22,076
On Saturday April 3, I was at North Park Mall juggling a soccer ball for 3 hours nonstop. I juggled a total of 22,076 times. Thanks to Chick Fil-A for hosting this event and for donating 20% of their sales during the time I was juggling to Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.
A special thanks to the parents and youths that showed up to support this event. We had a wonderful turnout. I would also like to thank those young people who helped make the event a success by keeping time, counting juggles and even preventing people from walking into me while I was juggling.

by ddemmin on Mar.29, 2010, under Fundraiser
Please buy your CHICK-FIL-A from inside North Park Mall on Saturday April 3rd between 12:00pm and 3:00pm.
To kick start the Blair E. Batson fundraiser, I am teaming up with Chick -Fil-A from inisde North Park Mall. As part of my training schedule for the May 1st event, I am going to attempt to juggle a soccer ball for 3 hours non-stop. This will be my first major test. I will only take one try.
Chick Fill-A is going to donate 20% of the sales that they make while I am juggling from noon to 3:00pm to Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.
I will start juggling at 12:00pm and hopefully end at 3 pm.
The person that guesses the EXACT amount that I can juggle in 3 hours will win $300.
If the ball drops before I reach 3 hours the winning number will be whatever amount I have juggled at that point. My goal is to juggle the ball for 3 hours non stop.
This event is scheduled for April 3, 2010, at the Chick Fill-A inside NORTH PARK MALL. While I am juggling anyone can come and watch for as long as they want.
Anyone can try to guess the amount that I might juggle and be eligible to win the $300.
Rules for Guessing:
- Once you submit your score it cannot be changed, so guess wisely.
- The competition is only open to people that live in Mississippi.

Dwyane to Attempt a Guinness Book Record for Juggling a Soccer Ball in a Fundraiser Event.

Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children Fundraiser

Demmin
I am having a fundraising event for the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson, MS. I would like to bring the soccer community in Jackson as well as throughout the entire state of MS together in order to help raise money for the children’s hospital. 100% of the money raised will be donated to the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.
Description of the Event.
I am going to have a juggling competition. The State of MS vs Me. Every soccer player on every recreational and/or select team would have one try to juggle as many as he or she can. The individual juggle from all participants would be tallied and it would be my challenge to beat the combined total. This amount could easily add up to over one hundred thousand juggles. If that proves to be the case, it would take me more than 12 hours of nonstop juggling to surpass that number. I will take only one try in an attempt to beat the combined total of everyone on May 1st 2010. Each participant would be asked to donate $5. As I mentioned above every dollar from this event will be donated to the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.
As an added incentive I would also like to attempt to beat the combined juggles of the parents that have a child on the teams. Parents on each team could try to beat their kids’ combined juggling score. Each parent would be expected to donate $5 (or more) in order to compete. My goal would be to beat both the amount of the combined juggle of the kids and the parents as well as the Guinness Book of World Records Time for juggling, (which is 24 hours). You might say, “Dwyane is crazy” how can he eat, drink, use the bathroom or even sleep? I have heard it all. And I must agree: Maybe I am a little crazy.
This will definitely be the most difficult, tiring, challenging task I have ever attempted. I will have to concentrate for every second, every minute and every hour that I last. But I think it would be an amazing and interesting challenge; one that I feel up to !!
In addition to the juggling event, I will also be hosting a 3v3 soccer tournament for kids and adults of all ages.
So please help me make this a fun, exciting and spectacular event for everyone involved, especially for the children that need the Blair E. Batson Hospital for their survival.
Thank you for your consideration,
Dwyane Demmin
ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND RULES FOR JUGGLING EVENT WILL BE POSTED IN A FEW DAYS.

“Kids Helping Kids”
Every day hundreds of us are able to be involved in the game we love. We are blessed to be able to play, coach and participate in the “Beautiful Game” of soccer. Most of us take this opportunity for grated and we give little thought about not being able to participate. While we are enjoying the game and agonizing over missed shots there are hundreds of kids not far from us who do not have the same opportunity. These kids are facing the real game, and that is the game of life.
Decisions and opportunities made on their behalf do not represent missed goals, but maybe a life cut short by a dreadful childhood illness. Everyday children face this life and death struggle at Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson, MS.
Blair E. Bats0n is a teaching and research hospital and relies on donation and support from others to carry on its mission. All children are treated regardless of the ability to pay. Wouldn’t it be neat if the soccer community could come together for one day, one event to help saved the lives of those kids that are suffering? “Kids Helping Kids” is the theme and effort by Coach Dwyane Demmin to do exactly this.
Coach Demmin has long been regarded as a great soccer player and coach. He played collegian soccer at Belhaven College, has played professionally for a number of years and coached St Joe Catholic High School to 8 consecutive appearances in the MS State Soccer Championship, winning 6 State Championships. In 2009 Coach Demmin was named as the MHSAA Coach of the Year for Boys Soccer.
On May 1st 2010, Coach Demmin will attempt to beat the combined juggles of every soccer player who participates. He would like for each player on each team to take one try and juggle as many times as they can. The individual juggles of each player on each team would be totaled. Coach Demmin will take one try and attempt to beat the combined total of every participant. At the same time, he will also attempt the Guinness Book of World Records for juggling a soccer ball(24 hours).
In addition Coach Demmin will be hosting a 3 v 3 soccer tournament for kids and adults of all ages and abilities. All money collected from donation and entry fees will be donated to the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children. Let’s come together as a soccer community and support the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital. “Kids helping Kids”
