Coaches

 I was in Rochester NY  for the last two weeks helping with the Craig Demmin Soccer Camp.  This is a picture of some of the Coaches.  I had a wonderful time with the Rochester kids.  The U-10 girls team from Rochester that participated in the Dwyane Demmin 3v3 tournament in Jackson on May 1st 2010 was at both of Craig’s Soccer Camp.  They had such a wonderful time in Jackson and are already making plans to return for the 2nd annual Dwyane Demmin Soccer 3v3 Tournament.

The Rochester girls qualified for the National 3v3 Championship in Disney World and will be leaving on Wednesday 28th July.  There 1st game is on Saturday morning.  Good luck Girls!

Paul the Octopus was the biggest hero of  the World Cup.  He predicted the results of eight games and was correct eight times. Many people went against Paul because it was the first prediction that didn’t involved the Germans.  They were wrong and Paul the Octopus was right.

Paul is now a celebrity, everyone wants a peace of  him, I mean a taste of him.  Spanish businessmen are trying to buy him for $38,000.  What will become of Paul the Octopus?  Will he be around for the next World Cup in Brazil? I am guessing he will not because someone said the life span of an Octopus is 3 years. I have no idea.

Well it looks like Spain is going to win the World Cup and Germany comes in 3rd place.

Over 100 people from the media gathered to witness the Octopus prediction before the Germany, Spain game.

Paul the  Octopus predicted all six of Germany games including their only lost to Serbia in group play.  The Octopus last incorrect prediction came in  the 2008 Euro finals when he predicted that Germany would defeat Spain.  The Germans lost 1-0 to Spain.  Before last Wednesday semifinals the Octopus picked Spain to beat Germany. 

The German fans are making death/dinner threats against the Octopus after their defeat.  Prior to Germany games, aquarium workers lower two containers holding food into his tank.  Each contains a flag of the nations in an upcoming game.  The food he chooses is deemed his selection.  In this case, Paul ate from Spain’s container.  We all know who won that game.

Sorry Germans fans, the Octopus  was right again!
